My Friend: "Yeah I guess. I'd still rather play a board game."
Me: "Board games—"
But my sentence is interrupted as something strikes me in the back. That something, I discover as I reach back and bring it to where I could see it, was a clump of soggy grass. And it was obvious by the mischievous look on my friend's face where it had come from.
That one little clump of grass started a grass fight, which eventually gave way to a grass war, and then a game. It was a game we made up that was kind of like capture the flag, where we each had sides, and flags hidden on that side. But instead of tagging each other we hit each other with grass, and when you were hit you had to stand still while you counted to fifteen Mississippi , and the other person usually took that as an opportunity to sneak onto the opposite side and look for the flag.
We played this over and over again, until the sun had come out and dried the grass so that it began to itch. But we didn't give up just yet. Since it had just rained there were still some puddles, so we would soak our grass in the puddles before we threw it.
After about an hour of throwing grass, and being hit with grass, and counting to fifteen until we could hardly pronounce the word Mississippi, we got tried and just started to take some funny pictures with my ipod. Unfortunately, my ipod camera is not the best, and there also may have been some grass on the lense so most of them didn't turn out well. But here is my favorite one:
(This pose was his idea)
This goes to show that sometimes you can have fun in the most unlikely of places. A lot more fun than you can have playing a board game.
